Don’t forget to come and join thousands as we honor the life of Martin Luther King Jr., reflect on his message, and make an impact on those around us through a call to service.

Be there to kick off the Luis Palau Sacramento Festival with Sacramento’s civic, business, and church leaders, music from the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Choir, and an encouraging message from special guest speaker Luis Palau.

PRE-PRAYER CELEBRATION! TUESDAY, JAN.10, 2012, 7 pm

This annual event unites people from churches throughout
the Sacramento area to celebrate—and be challenged by—
Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision of racial diversity, reconciliation,
and harmony. It has grown annually, with over 2,000 people from
more than 100 churches attending.

We will present the “Lifetime Achievement” award to an individual who has made
a tremendous impact on the Sacramento region over the past thirty years, as well as
“Difference Maker” awards to individuals who have made major contributions in the areas
of:

• Service and advocacy
• Programs for children
• Coaching and mentoring
• Historical and cultural preservation
• Innovation and change
• Unity of the church

Each year on the third Monday of January schools, federal offices, post office and banks across America close as we celebrate the birth, the life and the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

It is a time for the nation to remember the injustices that Dr. King fought. A time to remember his fight for the freedom, equality, and dignity of all races and peoples. A time to remember the message of change through nonviolence

We've got stories of Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and the Civil Rights Movement. So bring your kids and tell your friends. And please stop by again.
